Angela McDonald is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Educational Leadership and Counseling at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She has a BS in Human Services Counseling and a MSEd in Community Counseling, both from Old Dominion University. Angela completed a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at the College of William and Mary. She is National Certified Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (NC). As a faculty member at UNC Pembroke, Angela authored the initial CACREP self study for the Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Professional School Counseling programs and continues to serve UNCP as the CACREP Liaison. UNC Pembroke’s counseling programs were awarded the NBCC Professional Identity Award in 2013. Angela is a volunteer member of the Chi Sigma Iota Leadership Committee. Her professional interests include counselor advocacy, mental health policy, accreditation, and sexuality counseling. Angela has clinical experience in substance abuse, family counseling, and college counseling settings.
