Cheryl L. Fulton, Ph.D., LPC, is an Assistant Professor in the Professional Counseling Program at Texas State University. Dr. Fulton received both her B.S. in Psychology and her M.Ed./Ed.S. in Counseling from the University of Florida. She later received an M.B.A. from the University of Colorado at Denver and her Ph.D. in Counselor Education from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Dr. Fulton is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas with more than a decade of experience counseling individuals, families, and groups in a variety of settings. She has a long history of community service including three years as a volunteer suicide and crisis-line trainer and two years providing mental health education to newly resettled refugees from Bhutan, Burma, and Vietnam. She is an active member of many professional counseling organizations and regularly presents at regional and national conferences. Dr. Fulton’s research interests include mindfulness, women’s and gender issues, spirituality and religion in counseling, and counselor entrepreneurship.
