Barbara Herlihy, Ph.D., NCC, LPC-S, is a University Research Professor in the Counselor Education Program at the University of New Orleans. She is the co-author of three current books, two with Gerald Corey (ACA Ethical Standards Casebook, 7th ed., 2015, and Boundary Issues in Counseling, 3rd ed., 2015) and one with Theodore Remley (Ethical, Legal, and Professional Issues in Counseling, 5th ed., 2016), as well as over 80 journal articles and book chapters, primarily on the topics of ethics, feminist therapy, and diversity and social justice. She is a past recipient of the Southern Association for Counselor Education & Supervision (SACES) Courtland Lee Social Justice Award and the ACES Outstanding Mentor Award. She is a past chair of the ACA Ethics Committee and served on the ACA Code of Ethics Revision Taskforce in 2005. She has served as Chair of the ACA Foundation and the ACA International Committee. She has presented seminars and workshops on ethical issues across the United States and internationally, most recently in Italy, Malta, Mexico, and Venezuela.
