As Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and Emerging Business, Ken Cheng leads the company’s technology strategy, software networking solutions, key business initiatives, M&A, and investment portfolio as it focuses on the evolving data center infrastructure within enterprises, cloud service providers, and Federal markets. Previously, Cheng served as vice president of routing, application delivery, and software networking, owning the overall vision, strategy, and execution of these business areas. Cheng joined Brocade in 2008 through the acquisition of Foundry Networks, where he held various executive management positions during his 12-year tenure. Prior to Foundry, Cheng served as chief operating officer and Senior Vice President of Engineering for DG Systems (now DG FastChannel), a content distribution network company that operates the largest network designed specifically for media distribution. Cheng also held senior engineering management positions at Network Equipment Technologies (NET) and Bell Northern Research (later Nortel Labs). Cheng holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics from Queen's University (Canada), an MBA from Santa Clara University, and a Certificate in Music from the Royal Academy of Music (England).
