Genie Blough is an anesthesia practice consultant working with physicians and administrators in private and academic practices to effectively lead their groups to outstanding performance in their operations. She works with leadership in groups to negotiate contracts with managed care companies and hospitals, to develop strategies for growth and change, and to serve as a facilitator in governance issues. She works with hospitals and integrated delivery systems to ensure efficient anesthesia staffing models and compensation. She conducts surveys for state anesthesia organizations and along with a colleague has organized surveys for ASA and helped initiate the first anesthesia-specific cost survey for MGMA. She was the administrator of a private practice anesthesia group for 17 years and the administrator of Teamcare Medical Management Inc, a billing and management company. She is a past president of Anesthesia Administration Assembly of MGMA and is the AAA Liaison to the ASA Committee on Practice Management. She taught online courses for MGMA and served on the MGMA Board of Directors for six years, three years as Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee for MGMA. She makes presentations to groups and to organizations such as ASA and MGMA.
