SCOTT KLEINSCHMIDT is a 24-year veteran with the Wichita (KS) Fire Department, where he is a captain assigned to Rescue Company 1 in the Special Operations Division. Previously, he was a lieutenant on a truck company and a firefighter with the rescue company. He is a rescue team manager with the KS-TF5 regional USAR team and the KS-TF1 state USAR team. He is a department instructor/coordinator in truck company operations and coauthored the department?s standard operating procedures for truck company and rescue company operations. He is an adjunct instructor in the department?s Training Division. He provides instruction and hands-on training in truck company, rescue company, and reduced-staff fireground operations at the local, state, and national levels. He is a presenter and lead H.O.T. instructor at FDIC International and has contributed to Fire Engineering.
