Kirstie started her career at the Bureau of the Fiscal Service in 2007 and has 20 years of experience in accounting, with 13 of those in the government-wide accounting space. Kirstie is currently the Director overseeing the accounting and reporting for the U.S. General Fund, also referred to as “America’s Bank Account.” The General Fund is responsible for recording and reporting the assets and liabilities required to finance government operations. Kirstie’s primary focus involves identifying and implementing corrective actions designed to improve data quality and auditability of America’s Bank Account which also supports improvements in the Financial Report of the U.S. Government. Prior to this latest assignment, Kirstie served six years managing government-wide Intra-governmental Transactions and Reconciliations and improved the government-wide out of balance condition by over $162 trillion. Kirstie has a bachelor’s degree in public accounting from Marietta College.
