Bethany Schempp, MS, RN, CWOCN has practiced in the WOC field for greater than 25 years, where she developed the wound program at the Visiting Nurse Service in 1990. Prior to this she had practiced in Acute Care, Long Term Care as well as Industry with Johnson and Johnson Extended Care Products and Scott Health Care as the Nurse consultant for each company’s skin care and incontinent care product lines. Beth received her Bachelors in Nursing from Nazareth College, her Masters in Nursing Education from Roberts Wesleyan College and her Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nursing education at Emory University. She currently is a member of the URMC WOC nurse team. Ms. Schempp has served on the MCIC of Vermont, Care at the Bedside Initiative in developing standards of care for patients at risk for pressure ulcer development, as well as the AHP (Accountable Health Partners) Quality/Care Management Committee to develop wound care standards for AHP members. She is a member of the Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nurse Society as well as the Society of Urologic Nurses and Associates. Ms. Schempp has had several poster presentations at the regional and national WOCN meetings, and is published.
