Tonya Weaver

Tonya Weaver has the privilege of serving as the Superintendent of the Garrett-Keyser-Butler Community School District in Garrett, Indiana. She earned degrees from both Butler University and Indiana University. Tonya has held various administrative roles in the district, including serving as the elementary Principal from 2010-2013. She was named the Director of Administration and Innovation for Garrett in 2013, before becoming the district’s Superintendent. Weaver has served on several educational committees at the state and local level and is currently engaged in the Indiana Department of Education’s eLearning Cadre and State Systemic Improvement Plan Team. Tonya’s district is known across the state as being a leading innovator. The district has been recognized as an Apple Distinguished Program for 2015-2017. Tonya strives to lead her district by fostering a school culture where innovation is embraced and challenges are viewed as opportunities.
