Drew Torbin founded Black Bear to accelerate the adoption of renewable energy by institutional real estate owners. Seven years later, Black Bear represents over 100 clients whose aggregate activity represents over 10% of the U.S. commercial solar market. Black Bear is a tech enabled services business which works with property owners to educate them on their onsite renewable energy opportunities, competitively source the best terms in the market on their behalf, negotiate contracts and oversee development. In 2021, Black Bear issued over 700 MWs of competitive procurements on behalf of their clients. Prior to founding Black Bear, Drew led the global renewable energy group at Prologis. During his tenure the group deployed over 120 MWs of distributed solar projects across three continents.
