Kyle Conder
Senior Associate Athletics Director/Compliance
SMU
Kyle Conder joined SMU Athletics as the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Compliance in July 2011. He is the institution's Senior Compliance Administrator and directly manages all compliance operations for SMU Athletics. Conder also serves as Sport Administrator for the SMU Women’s Volleyball, Men’s Swimming & Diving, Women’s Swimming & Diving, and Women’s Rowing programs. He is also the Chair of the SMU Athletics Sport Administrator leadership team. Prior to joining SMU, Conder was the Director of Athletics Compliance at the University of Southern California (USC) where he oversaw the day-to-day compliance activities for several USC Athletics programs and helped usher in a new era for USC Athletics after a major infractions case. He came to USC after serving as the Assistant Provost for Athletics Compliance at Tulane University in New Orleans. At Tulane, he was the institution's Senior Compliance Administrator as a member of Tulane Athletics' Senior Staff. He successfully navigated Tulane Athletics back to full Division I membership in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. He was promoted at Tulane after originally being hired as the Assistant Director of Compliance. Conder began his career in intercollegiate athletics with the sports information office at the University of Nevada, Reno (Nevada). He was also a practice player for the Nevada basketball program. Conder also served as a Compliance Assistant with the Office of Athletics Compliance at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). Conder graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Nevada, Reno, and earned his law degree from UNLV's William S. Boyd School of Law. Conder and his wife, SMU Associate Athletics Director for Student Services and Senior Woman Administrator (SWA), Susan Vollmerhausen, live in Dallas with their son, Ellis, and daughter, Ada.
