Mr. Schaefer entered the security industry in 1995, just after the Oklahoma City Bombing. He joined EG&G Astrophysics, which was then the largest company in this industry. During his time with EG&G, successfully contracted with a nuclear power company to install the largest domestic installation of dual view X-ray machines. This configuration eventually became the standard for Nuclear Power Plants. Mr. Schaefer joined Autoclear in 2000. Going from the largest company in the industry to an upstart company initially caused some concern. He found a group of committed personnel, who were focused on finding solutions to the security challenges in various levels of governmental organizations, as well as private companies. This was especially important as security threats were evolving. Greg led Autoclear’s deployment of advanced X-ray equipment in US Navy Nuclear Weapons facilities. Autoclear is at the forefront of helping Theme Parks with threat detection. The use of X-ray screening equipment at parks and sport stadium Theme Parks is thought to be more effective and less intrusive than searching bags manually, and has the added benefit of helping to get patrons into the venues much more quickly. Greg is playing a leading role in designing and installing threat detection systems for some of America’s most popular sports and entertainment venues.
