Lynn Walsh is the Accessibility and Inclusion Manager at Shedd Aquarium and is a founding co-chair for Chicago Cultural Accessibility Consortium. With almost 30 years of museum experience, Lynn has worked for the Museum of Science and Industry, Betty Brinn Children’s Museum and Chicago Children’s Museum were she was a founding member of the award-winning access and inclusion initiative. Lynn has authored publications featured in Curator: The Museum Journal and The International Journal of the Inclusive Museum. Lynn was instrumental in the Shedd Aquarium receiving these honours, 2017 – Association of Zoos and Aquariums Angela Peterson Excellence In Diversity Award Through the Angela Peterson Excellence in Diversity Award, AZA recognizes significant achievement in work force and audience diversity by an AZA member institution. The award recognizes the most significant innovative, productive, far-reaching, program to promote diversity in institutions throughout AZA. 2018 – John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts LEAD Community Asset Award The LEAD® Community Asset Award recognizes the achievements of cultural arts administrators or organizations that continually demonstrate success with access initiatives, improving accessibility in their organization, city, state or region.
