“I truly believe that design makes a difference,” declared Jason, a 22-year architectural pro. “Through evidence-informed design, we can prove it.” For more than 19 years, Jason has specialized in designing and planning projects for the health industry. From leading academic medical centers to community hospitals located throughout the United States and abroad, Jason is at the forefront of a variety of healthcare projects including replacement hospitals, specialty hospitals, ambulatory-surgery centers and assorted healthcare renovations. He also believes that humanity connects us more than it divides us. “Because I’ve worked extensively internationally, people frequently ask me, ‘What are the differences between the U.S. and other countries?’” I tell them, “All of us have the need to be healthy and function at a high level on a physical, emotional and spiritual level. Design with health in mind has a tremendous impact on every person in the world.” Jason currently directs the HKS Houston Office and was the founding Principal of the office in October 2014. He leads the health studio of many talented architects and designers that serve Houston and the greater region. In addition to healthcare, HKS has expertise in coordinating expert teams for hospitality design, sports, education, mixed-use/retail and high-rise residential. HKS is a team of more than 1,300 architects, interior designers, urban designers, scientists, artists, anthropologists and other professionals working together across industries and across the globe to create places that delight, heal and stimulate peak performance.
