Dan Holbrook

Transportation Safety Board of Canada


Dan spent 10 years at Canadian Pacific Railway; working his way up from trainman/yardman to conductor and locomotive engineer. He joined the management team first as a Divisional Trainer then Supervisor of Rules Instruction and finally Trainmaster. Dan joined Transport Canada (Canada’s safety regulator) in 1992 as a Railway Safety Officer and shortly after Regional Manager. He joined the Transportation Safety Board (Canada’s accident investigation agency) in 1995 as the 0perations Specialist / Senior Investigator. In 2001 he became the Regional Manager for Western Canada and continues in that role today. Dan has been a proud member of IAROO since 1994.
