Tom Holmes has 32 years of railroad related supply chain (Purchasing, Material Management and Logistics) experience, working for BNSF, UPRR and CSX. In his current role as President -Railway Sourcing Solutions, Tom and his partners provide purchasing / supply chain consulting services to railroads and railway industry suppliers. During Tom's career, he has managed the procurement activities for several commodity areas including: Fuel, Rail, Ties, Ballast, Locomotives, Freight Cars, Intermodal Equipment, MRO, and Logistics. During his recent tenure at CSX, Tom initiated and led their "Best in Class" sourcing process which has delivered over $60M in annualized savings since inception. Tom retired from CSX in 2017 to start his consulting business. Tom is a graduate of Michigan State University, with a BA in Materials & Logistics Management. Tom also earned an MBA in Finance from the University of Minnesota.
