Xiang Yin
Director of Brewing Research and Innovation
Rahr Malting Corporation
Xiang S. Yin is the Director of Brewing Research and Innovation at the Rahr Corporation based in Minnesota. Prior to that he worked as the Global Director of Brewing Raw Materials at SABMiller based in the U.K., and as Global Technical and Innovation Director with Cargill Malt. Xiang is a fellow of the Institute of Brewing and Distilling (IBD). He served MBAA as the district president in Western Canada and the ASBC as the 76th president, and chairman of the Foundation Board, and is a recipient of the ASBC Award of Distinction 2015. Xiang continues serving the ASBC on the Editorial Board for the JASBC, as Chairman of the Research Foundation Board and the Asia Liaison Officer. He is currently the Technical Committee Chairman for the Brewing and Malting Barley Research Institute, Canada. He is the author or coauthor of over 60 papers and patents. Xiang obtained his first degree in fermentation technology from China, and received his Ph.D. from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh in 1986.
