Sievert is the Director of the Glenn A. Black Laboratory of Archaeology at Indiana University, and an appointed member of the Indiana State Historic Preservation Review Committee. Her interests include the archaeology of the Midwest, industrial sites, stone technology, and repatriation to Native American tribes.
