Graduating from Gadja Mada University with a Civil Engineering degree in 1982 and an MBA from IPMI International Business School in 1985. Started my career in property development in Indonesia in the early 1980s. I entered power sector in 1992 as an advisor on various investments mainly in the energy sector, with longstanding relationships and understanding of various state-owned energy companies, including Pertamina and PLN. I was involved in the development of Asahan-I since 1995, one of Indonesia's largest and most successful hydro electric power plants with a capacity of 180MW. I have also served on the Board of Commissioners of PT Elnusa Tbk, the country's largest oil and gas services company from 2004-2010. Currently I am a key originator and developer of PT North Sumatera Hydro Energy, the project company for the 51 OMW hydro electric power plant at Batang Toru, North Sumatera.
