Angela Griffith-Newkirk emerged on her stage of life as a proud Arkansan and a former educator for over 20 years. She holds a Master of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies from Grambling State University and obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. After a rewarding career as Director of Development for Mosaic Templars Cultural Museum she recently relocated to Houston, TX. She has experienced many milestones as Pageant Coach, “Tell them We Are Rising” Panel facilitator, Youth Advocate, Mentor, Script Writer for the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame, and Award, Winning Director for numerous plays. She considers one of her most memorable dramatic achievements as her original play “The Colors of a Woman’s Touch” which was performed at the Potters House in Dallas, TX. On her real-life stage, she landed the role of wife to Anthony Newkirk, the role of mother to their twelve-year-old son, Anthony George Newkirk, Jr. as well as her role as Stepmother to two daughters. She was inducted into the Southeast Arkansas Historical Society Black History Hall of Fame for her contribution to the Arts. Additionally, she received the Timeless Dreamer Award and the Life Toucher Award. She is now an Independent Marketing Consultant for New Beginnings Behavioral Health.
