Daniel Mittleman (Fellow, IEEE, APS, OSA) received his B.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1988, and his Ph.D. in 1994 from the University of California Berkeley. After two years at Bell Laboratories as a post-doctoral member of the technical staff, Dr. Mittleman joined the ECE Department at Rice University. In 2015, he moved to the School of Engineering at Brown University. He is a 2018 recipient of the Humboldt Research Award. He is currently serving a three-year term as Chair of the International Society for Infrared Millimeter and Terahertz Waves.
