Barbara Borgonovi is the vice president of Integrated Communication Systems (ICS), a mission area within Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems. Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN), with 2017 sales of $25 billion and 64,000 employees, is a technology and innovation leader specializing in defense, civil government and cybersecurity solutions. Raytheon is headquartered in Waltham, Massachusetts. Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems is a leading provider of integrated sensor, communication and electronic warfare systems giving military forces accurate and timely actionable information for the network-centric battlefield. With a workforce of 13,000 and 2017 sales of $6.4 billion, SAS is headquartered in McKinney, Texas, with operations across the U.S. and internationally. Borgonovi leads and oversees the ICS organization whose product portfolio includes protected satellite communications, cryptographic solutions, software-defined battlefield radios, and Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) systems. With programs in more than 70 countries, SAS ICS is firmly committed to being the most recognized provider of secure wireless networked solutions for military customers. Prior to this role, Borgonovi was vice president of Operations for SAS where she was responsible for all Operations functions and critical support such as Facilities and Environmental, Health, Safety & Sustainability. Borgonovi holds a master’s degree in business administration from Pepperdine University. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and is a graduate of Raytheon’s Leadership Development and Leadership Excellence programs. Barbara was recognized as the Gold Stevie Award 2017 Most Innovative Woman of the Year in Manufacturing for her leadership and innovations in manufacturing.
