Joel Savary
Policy Analyst

Joel Savary is a Policy Analyst with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Office of Federal Financial Management (OFFM). In this role, Joel leads a number of government-wide initiatives to improve Federal financial transparency, processes, and systems while engaging with Government and non-Federal stakeholders on key issues. Joel is the OMB lead for several Work Groups geared to improve data, accountability, and transparency, which are key elements of the President’s Management Agenda (PMA). Working in both the private and public sectors for over a decade, Joel is passionate about saving taxpayer dollars. Prior to OMB, Joel has worked at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), U.S. Department of State in the office of Emergency Management (OEM), and the Social Security Administration (SSA) as a Budget Analyst. He is also a certified ScrumMaster (CSM) and has a background in agile project development in IT and procurement shops. Joel holds a Masters of International Relations degree. He is also a graduate of the Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) program, which is a renowned program for leaders in the federal government. Joel is also a TEAM USA figure skating coach and enjoys teaching ice skating and basic hockey on the weekends. In addition, he has developed nationwide programs to support diversity in the sport of ice skating.
