Kurt is now a managing partner of IrriTech Training Inc, an on-line and in-person training provider for developing and certifying landscape and irrigation professionals. He is also the owner of K. Thompson and Associates, LLC, an outdoor water use evaluation and planning, and irrigation troubleshooting company.

After graduating from Washington State University Carson School of Business, Mr. Thompson has worked in landscape and irrigation contracting, wholesale irrigation distribution, irrigation manufacturing, and irrigation service. He is now a managing partner of IrriTech Training Inc, an on-line and in-person training provider for developing and certifying landscape and irrigation professionals. He is also the owner of K. Thompson and Associates, LLC, an outdoor water use evaluation and planning, and irrigation troubleshooting company. Besides working with and training thousands of landscape and irrigation professionals one-on-one, in the classroom, and on-line, Mr. Thompson has presented to landscape and horticultural programs at numerous colleges, and to both national and state associations. He is a nationally recognized author and collaborator of many certification and training manuals and programs, study guides, training courses, and presentations. He is the lead Irrigation AP trainer for the Florida Water StarSM program and continues to be a lead instructor for the Irrigation Association. Mr. Thompson is a North Carolina Licensed Irrigation Contractor (#1141), one of only a few people in the world to currently hold all nine of the Irrigation Association’s landscape irrigation certifications (#8408 CIC, CWCM-L, CID-R, CID-C, CID-G, CLIA, CLIA-D, CGIA, and CIT), an Irrigation Water Management Society Certified Site Water Planner (#0109), a Florida Nursey, Grower, and Landscape Association Certified Landscape Irrigation Service Technician (#S48807), a Florida Water StarSM Irrigation Accredited Professional (#0010), and an EPA WaterSense® Irrigation Professional. Additionally, he is an Irrigation Association Ambassador, a NALP Trailblazer for Irrigation and Water Management, as well as a member of educational councils and committees of several national and state associations.
