Sean Welch joined Cisco in April 2016 as Vice President/General Manager for Cable Access in the Service Provider Business. He leads the development and product management teams that deliver innovative solutions for our service provider customers. Welch oversees all elements of strategy, engineering, marketing and sales support for our cable access portfolio, which includes our hybrid fiber coax (HFC) products and our cable modem termination systems (CMTS) like the Cisco cBR-8, our industry leading Converged Cable Access Platform (CCAP). Sean and his team deliver solutions that help our service provider customers transform their networks to meet the ever-increasing appetite for bandwidth and converged services (video, voice and data). He is also leading our efforts to help customers virtualize, simplify and automate their networks for maximum scalability and profitable growth. Sean brings more than 25 years of entrepreneurial value creation and executive technology leadership to Cisco. Most recently, he was the President & CEO at Kwicr (acquired by InstartLogic), a cloud-based mobile network acceleration service. Prior to joining Kwicr, Sean was SVP/GM of video infrastructure solutions with ARRIS. He joined ARRIS through the sequential acquisitions of Motorola by Google and then ARRIS. At Motorola, Sean held multiple General Management roles involving both Data and Video product portfolios during his tenure. Sean has a successful track record of building value for technology start-ups in both the Service Provide and Enterprise markets. Some of the notable companies where he held leadership positions include; Broadbus Technologies (acquired by Motorola), Tenor Networks, Nashoba Networks (acquired by Cisco) and Synernetics (acquired by 3Com). He started his career with Hewlett-Packard Company.
