Lori Marshall grew up in Knightsen, CA, where she also raised her two children, Brock (25) and Morgan (23). She was a long time member of 4-H and showed livestock throughout her youth. She received her A.S. degree in Agriculture from Modesto Jr College and her B.S. degree in Animal Science from Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo. Lori is a Certified Fair Executive within IAFE, a graduate of the IAFE's Fair Management Certification Program, and has finished the 1st year of VMS, IAVM. Lori has been involved in organizations including Antioch Chamber of Commerce, Knightsen School Site Council, Contra Costa Winegrowers Assn Board, and Boards and/or Team Mom for a multitude of youth sports teams. Professionally Lori has held positions on the Western Fair’s Association Professional Development, Educational Development, Environmental Leadership, and Achievement Awards Committees. She is a CA Fair Service Authority Board Member and previously the Revenue Protection Program Chair. She is also involved in IAFE on the Facility Management and Spring Management Committees. Lori became the CEO at the Cow Palace on April 1, 2016 and enjoys continuing the tradition of producing the Grand National Rodeo & Jr Livestock Show along with contributing to the growth and development of the Cow Palace as a multi -purpose arena and event center. Prior to working at the Cow Palace, Lori worked 26 years at the Contra Costa County Fairgrounds and feels her most notable project there was the construction of a new Administration Office. “It was well overdue and undeniably needed. It turned out beautiful and will be an asset for years to come”, she says. What Lori loves most about the event industry is the opportunity to work with many different people and always learn new things. “It’s never boring and each day holds a new adventure.” she says.
