Nathan Sykes Nathan Sykes is the Deputy Metro Attorney in the Office of Metro Attorney located in Portland Oregon. In this role, Mr. Sykes represents the Metro regional government and the venues governed by the Metropolitan Exposition Recreation Commission including the Portland’5 Centers for the Arts, the Oregon Convention Center, and the Portland Expo Center. He also provides legal advice to Metro’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Department, Risk Management and was Metro’s ADA Coordinator. Mr. Sykes has spoken at both regional and national IAVM conferences on contracting and music licensing issues. He practices in the areas of entertainment law, labor and employment law, general government contracting and litigation. Besides providing legal advice to various venues, Mr. Sykes has worked as event staff at the Warfield in San Francisco as well as at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival. Mr. Sykes previously worked at Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt in their Portland office and as an Attorney Advisor at the U.S. Department of Labor in San Francisco. He is a graduate of the University of Oregon School of Law. Mr. Sykes enjoys playing golf with his wife Diane, playing music with his son Drew, and laughing with his daughter Maya.
