Bio: Dr. Shonna Waters is the Vice President of Behavioral Science at BetterUp. Prior to joining BetterUp, she was the vice president of research at the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). She spent over fifteen years as an external and internal consultant applying analytics to a wide range of human capital challenges. Dr. Waters holds a PhD in industrial-organizational (I-O) psychology and statistics and a certificate in leadership coaching from Georgetown University. She is an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) through the International Coach Federation (ICF) and a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). She is a professor at Georgetown University and previously at the George Washington University and the University of Minnesota. She wrote The Practical Guide to HR Analytics and her work appears in a variety of peer-reviewed journals, HR Magazine, and books. She has written over fifty technical reports and presented at more than thirty professional conferences.
