Isaac B. Thompson, Ph.D. is a Principal Data Scientist at Modern Hire where he leads a cross-disciplinary team of AI developers applying good AI to assessment and interviews. His deep learning algorithms and novel approach has been successfully applied in Modern Hire products and rolled out to impact millions of candidates per year who apply to Fortune 500 companies. His creative blend of advanced AI with traditional psychometrics won him and team the IPAC Innovations in Selection award of 2019 and Open Source award by HR Examiner. He was a winner in the 2018 SIOP Machine Learning Competition and then led, designed, and executed the 2019 and 2020 competitions which garnered large participation (over 450 competitors in 2019). He has over 35 pieces of research that have been accepted and presented in the US and abroad on topics of AI, deep learning, machine learning, open source, employee selection and assessment, Bayesian statistics, and other areas. He received his Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from North Carolina State University.
