Katie Hanson is the Benefitfocus director of product management where she leads the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the company’s flagship product BENEFITFOCUS® MarketPlace as well as the broader product portfolio for employers and public sector organizations. Since joining the Benefitfocus team in 2017, her passion for using data to uncover insights and foster innovation has contributed to the advancement of consumer-focused solutions, including the new iOS mobile application, decision support tools and communication capabilities within the platform. For more than 15 years, she’s led cross-functional teams including user experience, design, and product management to deliver transformational customer experiences that give customers the information and tools they need to make the best possible decisions. Prior to joining Benefitfocus, Hanson helped consumers navigate big financial decisions using technology for Intuit, Renovate America, and Wells Fargo. Hanson is a consumer experience thought leader, and, as an innovation catalyst, she has led rapid design and coding sessions, presented in a variety of university classes, and led a webinar on the 2018 trends of benefits. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Southern California and a Master of Business Administration from the Anderson School of Business at the University of California, Los Angeles.
