John Stengel has been in the cyber security field for over 20 years. Starting early in his career with large networking projects, he parlayed that experience into securing internet and web infrastructure. Using that knowledge as a basis he has been researching and looking for weaknesses in business infrastructure ever since. He has identified several major issues including weaknesses in carrier-managed internet service that virtually guarantees the ability to break into a network.

There are a lot of technical nuances to the cybersecurity world, however, John is able to break those down and overlay them to executives providing an understanding on how to balance the risks with the business objectives. This ability makes John a highly sought-after speaker at conferences and meetings. John is unique because he does not use a script or presentation when speaking in front of an audience. John knows the material inside and out, which ultimately gives him the ability to speak freely and truly engage with the audience so that they can get the most out of the experience.

John is the author of the cybersecurity book titled “Security Pyramid” which covers the necessary steps all organizations must go through to build a properly secured network. John resides in North Carolina with his wife Kim and their four amazing children.

Two interesting facts about John is that when he is not at work he rarely touches a computer or any other device. Additionally, John never uses social media. John is an avid runner and enjoys spending time traveling.
