Dr. James Davis is a Professor and the Management Department Chairman at the Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University. Dr. Davis has also been associated with the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame for over twenty years, joining its faculty in 1991. He is an experienced instructor, facilitator, advisor and author and continues his relationship with Executive Education at Mendoza College of Business by teaching in its custom programs, including Initial Growth Strategies and Finding Capabilities through Mergers & Acquisitions for the Bayer Senior Business Management Program. Jim’s areas of expertise and research interests include family business, entrepreneurship, corporate governance, strategic planning, trust, social capital and stewardship.

In 1998, Dr. Davis launched the Gigot Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at Mendoza College of Business which, during his ten-year directorship, consistently ranked among the top 20 programs of the country and received the NASDAQ Center of Excellence Award. Davis also launched and served as the Chairman of the Corporate Strategy and Governance Division of the Strategic Management Society.
