Fred Worley Architect
Fred Worley graduated from the University of Texas School of Architecture in 1971. He has practiced as a registered architect in Texas since 1974. He retired after 25 years as manager of the Architectural Unit of the agency licensing long term care in Texas in August 2017. He wrote and interpreted state licensing standards and federally adopted codes. He was a member of the national board of directors of SAGE. He served on the Pioneer Network Task Force that proposed revisions to the 2012 edition of the Life Safety Code (LSC) to promote a more non-institutional built environment for nursing facilities. He was a member of the LSC technical committees (TC) to revise the 2015 and 2018 LSC editions to continue this revision goal. He served on LSC TC for Residential Board and Care for the 2015, 2018, and now the 2021 edition technical committees for assisted living facilities. He is on the Residential Document Group of the Facilities Guidelines Institute 2022 edition.
