Karen is a retired nurse practitioner whose current medical interests include differential diagnosis, epigenetics, and fluoroquinolone toxicity. She developed Respiratory Hygiene to prevent infections that would necessitate pharmaceutical intervention after contracting severe fluoroquinolone toxicity that left her painfully disabled; it was later discovered that she has numerous rare liver enzyme genes that prevent her from metabolizing drugs. Respiratory Hygiene mitigated her coronavirus episode in March 2020, improved periodontal disease, and cleared up dental plaque. A formal research protocol has been developed to test its efficacy.
