Ivonne is an expert in sustainability and international development and an independent consultant on integrating global social and environmental responsibility and sustainability into business strategies. She is currently a program administrator at Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy and for the university’s Puentes Consortium. Proficient in Spanish, English, and French, she has lived in several countries, serving in the past as an associate researcher and spokesperson for the UNESCO Chair in Sustainability in Barcelona, Spain, and as a visiting scholar at the Center for Sustainabilty and Capabilities at Cambridge University. Among other roles, she has worked with the Environmental Defense Fund, UNEP, UNIDO, GEF, NOAA, and the Mexican Environmental Protection Agency. She holds a doctorate and master’s degree in sustainability from Polytechnic University of Catalonia, as well as a master’s in international relations from Universidad de las Américas Puebla (UDLAP). She has published several papers and book chapters on social policy issues and sustainability strategies and many reports for private and public sectors.
