Alan has worked as an Associate Editor with the National Safety Council's Safety + Health Magazine and Family Safety and Health Magazine since April 2017. He is also a co-host of the "On the Safe Side" podcast. Alan was previously a sportswriter with STATS, the Naperville Sun and the Aurora Beacon-News. He has earned a combined 13 state, regional and national writing awards, including honorable mention in the 2004 edition of the Best American Sports Writing.
