Jesrael Lopez is the Data Transparency Manager within the Office of the Chief Data Officer (OCDO) at the Bureau of the Fiscal Service, U.S. Department of the Treasury. Jesrael leads the Data Transparency Division, which drives the Fiscal Service’s enterprise data transparency strategy by managing two flagship products: USAspending.gov, the official source for U.S. government spending data, and FiscalData.Treasury.gov, providing open federal financial data in modern, machine-readable formats. These efforts enhance public understanding of federal finance through data transparency, informed decision-making, and accountability. Jesrael’s responsibilities include overseeing program delivery, leading cross-functional teams, optimizing operational processes, and fostering a positive and inclusive team culture. With a career supporting the government since 1995 and Fiscal Service since 2007, Jesrael brings a wealth of experience and leadership to his role, ensuring effective execution of legislative mandates and improved user engagement with federal financial data. Jesrael earned a BBA in Accounting and Computerized Information Systems after serving 8 years in the U.S. Army, which laid the foundation for his dynamic career in public service and financial management.
