Hira Hasan is a director with BDO Public Sector, LLC. She is the Lead for Public Sector's Grant Management and Financial Management Solutions focusing on growth and supporting agencies with their grants and financial management needs. With over 17 years of experience in financial management, business process improvement, internal audits, compliance reviews, external auditing, and supporting internal control assessments, she brings a diverse background of commercial, and federal auditing and consulting experience to clients. She specializes in providing grants management support, and conducting improper payments reviews and audits, audit remediation, audit readiness and process improvement services to large clients. She has supervised and performed large internal audit engagements, compliance audits review and assessments, Improper Payment audits, and financial statement audits. An accomplished director focused on growth and delivering high quality client service to Federal Civilian agencies. She has a proven history of successfully leading teams to achieve and exceed financial targets. She is proficient in identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities and is a thought Leader and Subject Matter Expert in Internal Audit and other Federal Financial Management Initiatives. She is dedicated to mentorship and skill enhancement initiatives for personnel development and success of professional staff. Ms. Hasan is a Certified Internal Controls Auditor and a Project Management Professional. Ms. Hasan received her B.S. in Accounting and Business Administration from the State University of New York, Plattsburgh, NY, and is an active member of the Association of Government Accountants, National Grants Management Association and Project Management Institute.
