Jonathan Earle is currently the Deputy Chief of the Special Operations Division (SOD) and has served in this capacity since August 2023. Deputy Chief Earle began his ATF career in 2009 as a Special Agent (SA) in the Los Angeles Field Division, El Centro Field Office. In 2013, Deputy Chief Earle transferred to the Washington Field Division and in 2018 took a promotion as the Group Supervisor (GS) of the Crime Intelligence Intel Center (GCIC) and in 2020 became the GS of Washington III. In 2022, Deputy Chief Earle was detailed to ATF Headquarters and served as a Branch Chief for the SOD Enforcement Support Branch prior to being selected for the Deputy Chief position. Deputy Chief Earle has served previously as a uniformed police officer with the United States Secret Service (USSS) from 2006 to 2009. Deputy Chief Earle received a bachelor’s degree in history from Providence College in 2003 and received a Master of Strategic Studies degree From the US Army War College in 2022.
