FBI, Finance & Facilities Division
Supervisory Special Agent (SSA) George M. Lopez is a seasoned IT security and national security professional with nearly 20 years of experience at the FBI. As Unit Chief for the Infrastructure and Security Unit in the Finance and Facilities Division, he oversees IT infrastructure, security administration, business intelligence, and cloud migration initiatives, including leading a multi-million-dollar project to migrate the FBI’s financial systems to AWS Secret Cloud. Previously, he served as the Senior Supervisory Resident Agent in Fresno, managing investigations into counterterrorism, cybercrime, public corruption, and financial fraud, while also assisting in the FBI’s Inspection Division with a proposal to streamline processes for $6 million in potential annual savings. His earlier FBI roles included supervising intelligence teams in major domestic terrorism cases, investigating organized crime and terrorism, and deploying to Afghanistan for corruption and fraud investigations. Before joining the FBI, SSA Lopez worked at Intel Corporation as an operations manager and senior budget analyst and served as a U.S. Army infantry officer with the 2/75 Ranger Battalion. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering from West Point, an MBA from the University of Washington, and a TS/SCI security clearance.
