Dr. Heard was born and raised in Tuttle, Oklahoma and has been a resident of Moore for 26 years. She is married and has three children. She enjoys traveling, reading, gardening, and spending time with family. She has a BA and MA in Psychology and an Ed.D. in Education Administration, Curriculum and Supervision from The University of Oklahoma. She has been in Special Education for 25 years, serving as a classroom teacher for students on the Autism Spectrum, Research Coordinator for the University of Oklahoma building statewide early intervention centers for toddlers with ASD, Coordinator and Director of Special Services in a public school. She has been a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst for 16 years and a Training Facilitator in Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRIĀ®), which is a trauma-informed intervention model and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI). She specializes in coaching and providing professional development in the use of Evidence-Based Practices (EBP) with students with challenging behaviors and disabilities. Dr. Heard has built a highly-effective technical assistance team of Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) in her local school district, as part of a Multi-Tiered System of Supports.
