LaChonna L. Avery, of Waynesboro, GA, is a dedicated Assistant Principal and IBCP Coordinator at BCHS, bringing over 25 years of diverse educational leadership experience. Known for her creative, enthusiastic, and innovative approach, she fosters inclusive, collaborative, and digitally-focused environments. Her patient and compassionate nature strengthens relationships with all stakeholders. Avery's expertise spans school tiering and administration, providing strategic coaching in effective school operations, including curriculum, safety, compliance, and budget management. She champions equitable, high-quality education for all students, preparing them for future success. Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in History from Paine College, a Master of Education from Lesley University, and an Educational Leadership Specialist degree from Augusta State University. She holds endorsements in Gifted Education, Teacher Support Specialists, Coaching, and Read to Succeed in Leadership, with ongoing pursuit of an MTSS/SST endorsement. Her career includes roles as a gifted teacher, instructional coach, and Director of Special Education and School Improvement.
