Dr. Jill Henderson is entering her third year as the Superintendent of Cimarron Public Schools. With over thirty-four years of experience in education, Jill embraces her role as a servant leader, dedicated to creating opportunities that empower all students to overcome challenges and pursue the lives they envision. She began her educational career in California, teaching Elementary Education before specializing in Special Education. After returning to her home state of Oklahoma, Jill continued to teach Special Education and coach various sports. Her diverse professional journey includes roles as a School Guidance Counselor, Principal at both the Elementary and High School levels, Career Counselor within the Career Tech system, and Director of Special Services, culminating in her current position as superintendent, which she has held for the past seven years. Jill has gained invaluable experience in both large and small school districts, as well as in urban and rural settings. She holds three Master’s degrees in Special Education, School Counseling, and Bilingual Education, along with a Doctorate in Administration and Leadership. Notably, she has been recognized as the first female Superintendent in three Oklahoma school districts. Jill has served as a HUB team member of the TeleSPED ECHO (a partnership of Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences Project ECHO, Cooperative Council for Oklahoma School Administration (CCOSA), and Oklahoma State University – Tulsa) for the past five years.
