Stephanie Courson
School Psychologist and Doctoral Scholar
Clemson University
Stephanie Courson, EdS, NCSP serves as a district school psychologist and doctoral scholar in Clemson's special education PhD program. She has research interests in coaching, mentoring, and professional development for special educators in self-contained settings, and instructional and behavioral practices of students with extensive support needs. Her work in schools has led to focus on bridging research to practice, including ways to disseminate what we already know in the field to those leaders and decision makers in schools who can help facilitate change. Stephanie holds masters degrees in elementary education and reading education as well as an education specialist degree in school psychology from the University of Central Florida. Prior to becoming a school psychologist, Stephanie served as a general education elementary teacher in the Central Florida area.
