Terra Geer is a dedicated Special Education Consultant with over 25 years of experience in special education leadership, mentoring, and program development. Her passion for special education began in 1985 when her cousin was born with Down Syndrome, inspiring her lifelong commitment to advocating for students with disabilities. Terra held many positions related to special education including paraeducator, Special Education Teacher and Out of District Coordinator before spending 15 years as Director of Student Services. During her tenure, Terra developed policies, managed budgets and grants, led multidisciplinary teams, and ensured compliance with special education laws. She provided mentorship, professional development, and instructional support to educators, fostering inclusive learning environments. As the founder of Terra Geer Consulting LLC, based in Newbury, NH, she now works with school districts to enhance special education services through professional development, mentoring, and needs assessments. She facilitates regional directors' meetings, mentors new special education administrators, and delivers specialized training to ensure compliance, effectiveness, and student-centered support across several states. Terra remains an active in both local and national organizations including New Hampshire Association of Special Education Administrators (NHASEA), the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), and the Council of Administrators of Special Education. She has served in leadership roles and on committees at the state level of these organizations throughout the last two decades.
