Michael Faggella-Luby, PhD, is professor of special education in the Department of Teaching & Learning Sciences at Texas Christian University. He also holds joint appointments as core faculty in the Alice Neeley Special Education Research & Service (ANSERS) Institute and the Andrews Institute for Research in Mathematics & Science Education. Dr. Faggella-Luby's research focuses on improving educational outcomes for students with learning disabilities, particularly in the areas of literacy, cognitive learning strategies, and postsecondary education. For almost two decades, Dr. Faggella-Luby's research has significantly contributed to the understanding of postsecondary education for students with disabilities, particularly through his co-authorship of the PASS Taxonomy, a pivotal framework for understanding research on disability services in higher education. Dr. Faggella-Luby has received two national awards for his research on embedded strategy instruction. Dr. Faggella-Luby is a past president of the Division for Learning Disabilities of the Council for Exceptional Children and an associate editor of the Journal of Learning Disabilities. His first book, Data Rules: Evaluating Teaching with Objective Reflection, was published by ASCD in fall 2024.
