Mr. Jerry Newell is an IT professional with more than 20 years of experience in the field. Currently, he serves as a senior technical advisor for the hybrid computing line of business at the Defense Information Systems Agency. In this role, he provides technical expertise and guidance on cloud computing, cybersecurity, and IT project management. With a strong background in computer systems and cloud computing, Newell’s held various positions, including systems analyst, application support tech lead, and systems administrator tech lead. He’s worked with numerous technologies and his expertise spans IT project management, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and database administration, UNIX application administration. Newell’s achievements include Civilian of the Year, and multiple Civilian of Quarter awards. In addition to his technical expertise, he’s a skilled leader, providing guidance and support to management and junior employees. Newell’s IT career started enlisted as a computer programmer in the U.S. Air Force where he was responsible for the aviation resource management system. He worked for Unisys as a UNIX system administrator for DISA. Newell has several certifications and is committed to staying up to date with the latest technologies and trends in the field, ensuring that he remains an asset to his organization and the IT community.
