Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity (MCTSSA)
Major Dane Oshiro was commissioned in 2015 after graduating from the United States Naval Academy with B.S. in Computer Science. After completing The Basic School and the Basic Communications Officer Course, he served as a Platoon Commander, Company Executive Officer, and Battalion S-3A at 9th Communication Battalion from 2016-2019. In July of 2019, he reported to the Assistant Chief of Staff, G-6 Communications, Marine Corps Installations Pacific – Marine Corps Base Camp Butler as the Deputy Operations Officer. From September 2019 to April 2021, he served as the Aide-de-Camp to the Commanding General, Marine Corps Installations Pacific – Marine Corps Base Camp Butler. In July 2021, he reported to the Naval Postgraduate School to pursue a Master of Science in Computer Science. After receiving his Master of Science degree in September 2023, he assumed his present duties at Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity. He served as the Branch Head of Integration and Interoperability Branch and the Tactical Communications Branch overseeing program engineering, experimentation, and prototyping in order to support communications requirements across the electromagnetic spectrum. Major Oshiro’s personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (with a gold star) and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
