Captain Vancina was commissioned in August of 2017. His operational assignments include: Communications Platoon Commander at 9th Communication Battalion, S-6 Communications Officer at I Expeditionary Operations Training Group, and Future Operations Officer at 9th Communication Battalion. Captain Vancina is a graduate of the Basic Communication’s Officer’s Course, Maritime Prepositioning Planner’s Course, and the Marine Corps University Expeditionary Warfare School Blended Seminar. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Science from Maranatha Baptist University and a Master of Science in Computer Science from the Naval Postgraduate School. Captain Vancina currently serves as the Tactical Cellular Lead at Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity where he leads experimentation, testing, and research and development of 5G/FutureG technologies.
