Matt Coursen is the U.S. Healthcare Lead for Leasing Advisory at JLL. He leads a team of over 250 healthcare specialists across the United States who represent owners and investors of medical properties as well as occupiers of that asset class including hospitals, health systems and high-growth physician networks. Since 2005, Mr. Coursen has advised his clients on over 1,000 real estate transactions valued in excess of $2B. His clients value him for his ability to devise sophisticated, data-driven real estate strategies, for his experience negotiating complex lease and purchase transactions, and for his commitment to their core values. Since 2018, Mr. Coursen has partnered closely with JLL Technologies to develop a proprietary data analytics software called OneMapIQ that has enabled highly effective strategies for many of the most respected healthcare organizations in the country. In 2025 and 2021, Mr. Coursen was named a Healthcare Influencer by Globe Street Real Estate Forum. In 2020, he won the Maryland Transaction of the Year Award from CREBA and Best Real Estate Deal of the Year by The Washington Business Journal for leading a 190,000 square foot headquarters transaction on behalf of Children's National Hospital. Mr. Coursen has achieved JLL Top Gun status 5 times (top 10% of JLL brokerage professionals in the Americas). Mr. Coursen received a Bachelor of Arts from Washington & Lee University, and he is a licensed Real Estate Salesperson in MD, VA and DC.
